| HCAA is active in the community and supports arts education. In past years, it has used its funds to produce children's workshops and provided scholarships for after school art. Members have received seed money and support to start local after school art and seniors' workshops. HCAA also supports the celebration of Black History Month in Hyattsville. It has helped support Northwestern High School's annual spring exhibit and invited them to exhibit with them at ArtSpin '97 and '98. HCAA has participated in various City events providing children's activities and information. In the past, members have also curated local elementary school exhibits. HCAA artists have received support from the Prince Georges Arts Council to provide workshops and educational exhibits. | |
