I was raised on Long Island, N.Y., and have longstanding family ties to Minnesota. I have lived and worked in the Washington, D.C. area for many years as an educator in the field of French language, culture, and literature. When I retired a few years ago, I was happy to have more time for creative activity and began making paper quilts based on geometric patterns found in Amish textiles and traditional fabric quilts. I have taken workshops on color, composition, and quilting, and am very drawn to abstract art.
