Mary Ann’s passion for Art has been long-lived. It has been a process of much education formal and private, experimenting and creating.
She paints a variety of subjects and mediums that are very expressive and relate to the viewers thoughts and feelings in a personal way. She does that by creating a mood, a place, a person, a time of day or a season.
Mary Ann works to capture a moment and portray this in a variety of ways. She specializes in the use of pen and ink and watercolor. For the past 2 years she has been working with many different media in the abstract.
She enjoys working with architectural subjects, city scenes, house portraits, animal portraits, children’s toys and portraits.
She creates from photos, abstract ideas, and plein air adding many personally embellishing features.
Mary Ann is also a Teaching Artist and has created her home into a studio and classroom. She offers an Afternoon of Art for all ages. COVID compliant.
She was the Co-Vice President of Hyattsville Community Arts Alliance for many years and has been Chair of the reception committee.
She has shown in numerous shows and ongoing venues. She loves to vend at various Art Fairs. Many of these venues are juried.
At the present she opened her first virtual show at The New Deal Cafe in July and was part of the Gateway Open Studio Tour in August. Both events are on their websites. She is looking forward to more virtual shows.
Mary Ann currently lives in Greenbelt, MD where she is a participating artist in the community.
