About HCAA

Hyattsville Community Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization founded in 1995. The association is comprised of prestigious painters, sculptors, photographers, crafts makers, poets and musicians, primarily from the local region.

HCAA curates numerous exhibits, working in conjunction with the City of Hyattsville and the Prince George's Arts and Humanities Council to provide artists with show space and the community with art program venues and a new Mentoring Program.

HCAA's ongoing programs at Franklins Brewery & Restaurant, Fleisher's Of Maryland Jewelers, and Prince George’s Plaza Community Center are well known throughout the region.

HCAA is active in the community and supports arts education. We’ve supported non-profits in fundraising by donating art works for auction and by monetary donations, e.g. the Anacostia Watershed Society, Art Works Now, Bowie State University Arts, Prince Georges County Schools Arts Program, Doctors Community Hospital, and Concern (a Treatment Foster Care Program) Arts Fund. Artists have donated their time to do arts projects in our local schools in Prince Georges County. We have received donations and grants from various individuals and organizations throughout our history.

HCAA is supported in part by grants from:

  • Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC)
  • The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission
  • Maryland State Arts Council
