Mary Ann is a native born resident of Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Originally she began her art career in the mid '70's, going to night school in San Francisco. Wanting to continue her education on a full-time basis she moved back East to study at the MD School of Art and Design, now a part of Mont. College. She completed a year certificate program. Recognizing the expense of being a student, she had to post-pone her dream of being an artist a few years. She married and has three children, now all grown, but still takes private lessons with her present Art Instructor of 13 years. Presently she shows her works, mainly pen and ink and watercolor, with the Washington Metropolitan Artists Society and the Hyattsville Arts Alliance. You can view some her work on the Watercolor Society's website www.martists.com and click on Mary Ann Lipovsky. She, also, is and art instructor with Prince Georges College SAGE program (senior adults growing through education).
